Pre-war plaster takes wallpaper beautifully. The wall absorbs paste evenly, the surface flexes where modern drywall can't, and the room reads more cohesively because the plaster itself is part of the architecture.
The catch: plaster needs to be probed before any paper is committed. We check for separation from the lath, hairline cracks that telegraph through paper, and previous repairs that flash differently than the surrounding surface. Where repair is needed, we patch and skim with materials that match the wall's behavior — not just its color.
Lining paper unifies a wall when the substrate has too many small surface-history changes. Lining is invisible once the print goes up, and it's the difference between a wall that looks calm and a wall that telegraphs every old patch.
